"Big Gear Jack" Award
In memory of the founder/organizer's father Jacques who has been her inspiration. One of Jacques' cycling buddies suggested this award. The award title is derived from Jacques' nickname "Big Gear Jack" who thought that the low gears weren't meant to be used, even going uphill. At the age of 82, he was still able to complete the 100 km route.
This award goes to the oldest person to complete the 100 or 160 km route.
In 2016, the award went to Alan Barclay,
age 84 of Hamilton.
